FIFA 21 won't get a demo this year

'FIFA 21' won't give players a demo but EA Play subscribers will get a trial.

The latest instalment in EA Sports' annual football simulation franchise will be released on October 9, and the game's official Twitter account has confirmed pre-launch details for users wanting to get to grips before that date.

In a statement, the team announced: "We aren't releasing a demo for 'FIFA 21'.

"Instead we've made the decision to focus our development team's time on delivering the best full game experience for current & next-gen consoles.

"We look forward to EA PLAY members jumping in 10 days from now and launching the game Oct 9."

The update comes a few weeks after EA confirmed that the upcoming title won't support cross-play over multiple systems.

A tweet by FIFA Direct Communication confirmed that it won't be possible to play the football game "across console generations or cross-play".

Responding to the FUT Weekly Podcast account's message asking to clear up a common question about the game among their listeners, they explained: "You won't be able to play across console generations or cross-play in #FIFA21.

"However, you will be able to carry over your FUT progression from PS4 to PS5 and Xbox 1 to Xbox Series X."
