Josedeodo can't carry Rainbow7 past LGD Gaming at Worlds 2020 The jungler did his best, but it was not enough.

Jungler Brandon "Josedeodo" Villegas couldn’t carry Rainbow7 in his match against LGD Gaming, and now finds himself eliminated from the 2020 League of Legends World Championship.

Josedeodo stole the spotlight at Worlds with his outstanding performance in the jungle. Unfortunately, his individual prowess wasn’t enough to take his team further in the competition. Rainbow7 fell against LGD in the elimination round in 3-0 fashion and the Latin American team is now heading back home.

R7 took Group B by surprise when it took down LGD and secured a spot in the elimination round. Heading into the best-of-five, everyone expected Josedeodo and R7 to perform better than its Chinese counterpart. LGD had different plans and finally started to look like the team fans were expecting.

LGD Gaming easily beats Rainbow7 in Worlds 2020

LGD slaughtered R7 and secured a clean 3-0 win. The victory came thanks to solo laners Xie "Langx" Zhen-Ying and Su "xiye" Han-Wei.

In games one and two, LGD completely took over the match. R7 had a few tricks in the third and final match of the day, but it wasn’t enough to take down LGD.

For its final game at Worlds, Josedeodo locked in Lee Sin and went for a lethality build. This build meant two things, Lee Sin became a menace but it was also the squishiest champion on the map. Every time Lee Sin went in, it was a one-way journey. Throughout game three, Josedeodo had some of the best plays fan have seen at Worlds so far, but that wasn't enough to turn the tide. In the end, LGD took the series and will play Legacy Esports next to decide who advances to the main event.

Could be Josedeodo be going to an LCS team in 2021?

While R7’s run was cut short, this might not be the last fans see of Josedeodo. A good jungler from an emerging region is an asset that every North American team wants.

Golden Guardians proved this with Can "Closer" Çelik, who shined with Royal Youth during the play-ins at Worlds 2019. Given the fact that Josedeodo speaks English fluently, there's a strong possibility that he could be the next in line to take a spot in North America.

Early this year, R7 updated Josedeodo's contract and the player will be wearing their jersey through 2021. If R7 receives a good offer, the team might let the jungler go north. Regardless of what might happen with the Argentinian jungler, his showing at Worlds 2020 gained him thousands of fans worldwide.
