A few hours before President Donald Trump announced his positive test for coronavirus, he attended a fundraiser hosted at his golf club in New Jersey.

The event proceeded despite the fact that White House adviser Hope Hicks tested positive for COVID-19.

White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows confirmed that the Trump administration had known of the diagnosis and made the decision to continue attending the fundraiser.

Meadows said that Trump received news of Hicks testing positive “right as Marine One was taking off.” Those who were in close contact with Hicks were briefly escorted off the plane.

When pressed further for more explanations behind the decision, Meadows responded, “I’m not going to get into the tick tock.”

Throughout the president’s attendance at the fundraiser, he came into contact with multiple supporters for photo-ops.
