After watching Chris Carson go down last Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, no one expected the veteran running back to provide quite the spark he did against the Miami Dolphins. Carson provided two touchdowns on 80 yards rushing in the Seahawks 31-23 win over the Miami Dolphins.
The MVP Shines Again
Russell Wilson threw for 360 yards and two touchdowns while leading Seattle to their first 4-0 start since 2013, the year Wilson won his one and only Super Bowl. After a closer than expected game in the first half, Wilson connected with David Moore for a 17-yard touchdown pass and Carson powered in for a one-yard score to give the Seahawks a 31-15 lead which would be their biggest lead of the day.
The Dolphins offense struggled against an injury-riddled Seattle defensive unit. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw for 315 yards but failed to convert in the red zone consistently and was intercepted twice by the Seahawks defense.
DeVante Parker highlighted the Dolphins offensive attack with a 10 catch, 110-yard day. Parker had been struggling in his first three games which led to tight end Mike Gesicki becoming the favorite target for Fitzpatrick. With Parker returning to 2019 form, Fitzpatrick should have access to a potent duo in the coming weeks.
After a commanding performance in Week 3, Tyler Lockett was quiet on Sunday. Lockett only caught two of his four targets for 39 yards. DK Metcalf consistently created big plays with four receptions for 106 yards on the day.
The highlight for Seattle was playing for some fans in the crowd, with almost 13,000 in attendance for the game.
“We always love to hear the 12’s, and the fact that they were in the stands today, it felt like it was normal,” said David Moore.

After allowing a flurry of points in their first three games, the Seattle defense overcame injuries and the Florida heat on Sunday. The Seahawks only allowed one touchdown on a short run from Ryan Fitzpatrick. Seattle faces the Minnesota Vikings next week on Sunday Night Football. The Vikings will roll into Seattle fresh off their first win of the season but are still last in the NFC North at 1-3.
Miami was not expecting to win the AFC East or contend for a playoff spot. With only a -3 point differential after four weeks, Dolphins fans are expecting more. Their defense has allowed 31 points in the last two losses and Ryan Fitzpatrick has been streaky at best. A primetime matchup against the San Francisco 49ers next week will test the leash of Fitzpatrick with top pick Tua Tagovailoa waiting on the bench.
