Cowboy’s Dak Prescott Recovering After Surgery For Gruesome Ankle Injury

Dak Prescott #4 of the Dallas Cowboys drops back to pass the ball

The Cowboys felt like a sad story before their week five game against the New York Giants. Dallas entered the season with sky-high expectations with their talent heavy roster and a new coach in Mike McCarthy. But instead, they have failed to stop other teams, being bottom five in scoring defense, and haven’t been able to get Ezekel Elliot going yet. In their game five-game, their miseries only multiplied when star quarterback Dak Prescott went down with a gruesome ankle injury that resembled that of Gordon Hayward‘s 2017 ankle injury – it was the same injury too with a dislocated ankle and a compound leg fracture. It was reported that Prescott had successful surgery on Sunday night.

In a normal year, this would end the Cowboys’ season, but they are actually first in their division even though their record is 2-3. On the other side, there was an outpouring of love and support for Prescott, who had a noted contract dispute with Cowboys’ management and was not able to get a massive contract before this injury happened. This is yet another example of why the player-empowerment era has accelerated over the past year. You have to look out for yourself and get your money in case something exactly like this happens. Prayers up for Dak.
