Le’Veon Bell Signs With The Chiefs

FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS - SEPTEMBER 22: Le'Veon Bell #26 of the New York Jets warms up before the game against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on September 22, 2019 in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

After being waived by the Jets earlier this week, former star running back Le’Veon Bell has signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. While Bell may be past his prime, or that’s just what the Jets do to you, this is another talented player that will be a target for Patrick Mahomes and the NFL’s most explosive offense. I’m not sure how much running back’s truly matter or how much value they provide to a team’s ability to win, but this does give the Chiefs the ability to stretch defenses to their limits even further than they were able to before. On his Twitter, Bell wrote, “Kansas City, #ChiefsKingdom, thank you for the opportunity let’s go!”

Bell had been a disappointment for the Jets after signing a four-year, $52.5 million contract last year. whether or not that was drop off or just having to play behind a bad o-line and with a bad quarterback. The Jets still have to pay Bell $6 million and his play will likely improve greatly will a solid o-line and the best quarterback in the league throwing to him.
