On Friday night, President Donald Trump called for the jailing of Democratic opponent Joe Biden, his wife Jill Biden, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at his Georgia rally. The verbal attack came after reports indicated that Biden raised more than Trump in the month of September.
In his speech at the rally, Trump said, “Lock up the Bidens. Lock up Hillary.”
“We’ve learned over the last couple of months: Joe Biden is a corrupt politician,” he added.
The rally attendees seemingly supported what the president said by chanting “lock him up” in return.
Trump previously asked his Attorney General William Barr to press charges against the president’s Democratic opponents Obama, Biden and Clinton. He asserted that Obama “spied” on his 2016 presidential campaign.
With the upcoming November election and Trump trailing far behind Biden in opinion polls, the president also accused Biden and his son Hunter of having “corrupt” Ukrainian business ties citing a questionable New York Post report.
The Post referenced unverified emails that came from an abandoned laptop at a small computer repair shop in Delaware. Many experts have said the report appears to be part of a Russian misinformation campaign.
