Jensen reportedly signs $4.2 million, 3-year deal with Team Liquid Another big LCS contract might be signed.

Team Liquid is once again involved in another huge offseason rumor.

According to Travis Gafford, Liquid mid laner Nicolaj “Jensen” Jensen will re-sign with the organization on a three-year deal. The new contract is reportedly worth $4.2 million, which would make for yet another record-breaking contract in the LCS.

Jensen has been a key part of Liquid's recent domestic and international success. Jensen joined the team in 2018 after several years with Cloud9. Ever since coming to North America in 2015, Jensen has been considered one of the best players in the league. Jensen has been constantly fighting with former Team SoloMid star Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg for the title of best LCS mid laner.

Together with Liquid, he qualified for the 2020 World Championship despite a very poor showing in the 2020 LCS Spring Split. Liquid went through the Worlds play-in stage with ease and also managed to show their capabilities in the group stage. Liquid beat the defending LEC champions G2 Esports and Worlds finalists Suning in the group stage, but it wasn't enough to advance.

Liquid building around Jensen, Alphari for 2021 LCS season

Liquid is known to have very deep pockets and a willingness to spend big sums of money to get the best players. This year’s offseason is no different, as Liquid is also expected to sign former Origen top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris for the 2021 lineup.

Getting Alphari and keeping Jensen puts Liquid in position to build up an LCS super team. The bot lane of Edward “Tactical” Ra and Jo “CoreJJ” Yong-in seems to be staying, while Liquid might be looking towards signing FlyQuest jungler Lucas “Santorin” Larsen to round out the squad.

While none of this has been confirmed, Liquid would be the biggest winners of the off season if this proves true.

The free player agency window starts on November 16 and it seems like Liquid will be ready to break some big news.
