Matthew McConaughey considered being a wildlife guide

Matthew McConaughey almost quit acting to be a wildlife guide or a symphony orchestra conductor.

He considered walking away from his profession entirely when he was trying to move away from romantic comedies towards more serious fare and had a variety of new career options in mind.

Speaking to Oprah Winfrey on Apple TV+'s 'The Oprah Conversation', he said he dabbled with being a high school football coach or being a schoolteacher amongst other professions.

But ultimately, he came to a realisation that knew there could be great "rewards" ahead if he continued with acting.
