Tesla's Full Self-Driving beta software will be closely watched by a US safety regulator

Tesla's Full Self-Driving beta software will be "closely" monitored by a US auto safety regulator.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has said they will be keeping an eye on the beta which is being rolled out to those signed up to Tesla’s Early Access Program and enables Autopilot’s partially automated driver assist system to ensure it doesn't pose any safety risks.

Musk had said this week that the firm is also approaching the trials of the new feature as "extremely cautious" as they work out any kinks in the system.
