Obama Cheerfully Needles Trump In Campaign Speech: ‘He’s Jealous Of COVID’s Media Coverage!’

Former President Barack Obama has set out on the campaign trail once again, although this time, it’s in support of his former Vice President Joe Biden‘s fight for presidency against President Donald Trump.

Obama is holding nothing backs during his socially-distanced rallies. While he has remained fairly quiet during Trump’s presidency, his efforts to help Biden win the election have painted a far different picture than his unsuccessful efforts to help Hillary Clinton in 2016 with the strategy of “when they go low, we go high.”

“What’s his closing argument? That people are too focused on COVID?” Obama said in Orlando on Tuesday about the president’s most recent debate. “He’s jealous of Covid’s media coverage… Florida Man wouldn’t even do this stuff! Why do we accept it from the president of the United States?” Obama said, referring to Florida’s trademark meme of ‘Florida Man’ that’s become famous from the state’s track record of illegal and reckless behavior from male citizens.

Obama’s attacks of the president did not go unnoticed, and in true-Trump fashion, he headed to Twitter to express his reactions.

“Nobody is showing up for Obama’s hate laced speeches. 47 people! No energy, but still better than Joe!” wrote the president, despite dozens of cars attending, and many people actually having to turn around after not being admitted due to COVID requirements.

Obama’s efforts, specifically in Florida, are strategic. Florida is a battleground state that Clinton lost in 2016, and according to themost recent CNN poll, Biden is only polling above Trump by 4%.
