Trump Florida Crowd Chants ‘Fire Fauci’ – President Says ‘I Appreciate The Advice’

WASHINGTON, DC - MARCH 13: In response to the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic, U.S. President Donald Trump announces that he is declaring a national emergency during news conference with National Institute Of Allergy And Infectious Diseases...

On Sunday, President Donald Trump told his Florida rally supporters that he would “listen to their advice” to fire Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, if he is re-elected for a second term.

Fauci has had a history of disagreeing with Trump’s various comments regarding the pandemic and the coronavirus death toll.

In his rally at Opa-locka, Florida, Trump  promised, “We’re going to have a safe vaccine that ends the pandemic.”

Trump has actively visited key battleground states days before the election. Despite the rising number of deaths related to COVID-19, he repeated his complaints about discussing the pandemic too often and asserted that his opponents would not care about the pandemic if it were not for the election.

The Florida crowd began to chant “fire Fauci” after Trump’s statements.

In response, the president said, “I appreciate the advice. I appreciate the advice.”

“No, he’s been wrong though a lot. He’s a nice man though. He’s been wrong on a lot,” he added.
