Red Bull Salzburg's Masaya Okugawa received his first senior international call-up Sunday after the Japan Football Association added the midfielder to the squad for their upcoming international friendlies against Panama and Mexico in Austria.

The 24-year-old scored his first UEFA Champions League goal Tuesday against holders Bayern Munich, equalizing at 2-2 before his team went on to lose 6-2.

Japan manager Hajime Moriyasu had called up Arminia Bielefeld's Ritsu Doan, but the JFA on Saturday said the midfielder will not be involved due to concerns from his club about the five-day quarantine required for those returning to Germany from high-risk areas.

The Samurai Blue play Panama on Friday and Mexico on Nov. 17 at Graz's Liebenauer Stadium.
