Biden Plans Executive Orders To Reverse Trump Policies On His First Day As President

DALLAS, TX - MARCH 02: Democratic presidential candidate former Vice President Joe Biden speaks during a campaign event on March 2, 2020 in Dallas, Texas. Biden continues to campaign before the upcoming Super Tuesday Democratic presidential primaries

Presidential-elect Joe Biden is set to reveal a number of executive orders to reverse multiple policies created by President Donald Trump on the first day of his presidency.

On Monday, Biden announced the creation of a COVID-19 task force, which contains 13 experts who will turn his executive plans into policy, in response to the pandemic. A strong response to COVID-19 was one of Biden’s most talked-about issues during his race for the presidency. Trump’s poor response to the pandemic was seen as a key factor in his failure to win re-election.

Trump’s “Muslim Ban” on immigration, which mainly targeted immigrants from Muslim countries, will be reversed by Biden on day one of his administration. He reportedly wants to reevaluate the country’s deportation system, as well as creating a pathway for citizenship for DREAMers. He also plans to bring America back into the Paris Climate Accord and World Health Organization, both of which Trump removed the country from.

Trump has yet to concede his loss to Biden, and spent his weekend golfing. In his victory speech, Biden encouraged the country to help him end “this grim era” in Trump’s America.
