Team Tommey Wins $25K Atlanta FaZe Cold War Clash

Team Tommey took home the $20K first place prize in the first CDL Cold War tournament, here’s how they did it.

Last night Atlanta FaZe hosted the first in a series of Black Ops Cold War tournaments hosted by Call of Duty League teams. This tournament had a slight twist though, as team captains got to pick their 5th member from 8 CDL pros. Team Tommey picked up Atlanta FaZe’s Chris “Simp” Lehr, and he proved to be the best pro on the night. Here’s how Team Tommey won the $25K Atlanta FaZe Cold War Clash.

Team Tommey’s Road to Victory

Team Tommey consisted of team captain Thomas “Tommey” Trewren, retired three time Call of Duty World Champion Damon “Karma” Barlow, Warzone phenoms Edy “Newbz” Juan and Almxnd before the team was completed after drafting Simp.

Round one saw Team Tommey take on Team Hitch, this meant they would be going up against the king, Seth “Scump” Abner. However, Tommey’s team were too strong and started with a 2-0 victory. Following this, Tommey took on fellow Warzone streamer Vikkstar and his team. Vikkstar drafted Brandon “Dashy” Otell as his professional player. Dashy nearly made the difference in this game, however with multiple hitmarkers it wasn't enough to get them across the line. Team Tommey took another 2-0 win and advanced to Winners Finals.

Team Rated were their Winners Final opponents. After drafting Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson, Team Rated were looking strong. Tommey took the first map, taking a 1-0 series lead. In map 2 however, they were dominated by Team Rated, this tied the series and forced a map 3. Here is where Team Tommey came back, winning the Control 3-1 and making the Grand Finals.

In the Grand Finals they took on Team Vikkstar in a rematch, the result was the same however, with Team Tommey taking the victory. This saw them take home $20K for the victory in the first Black Ops Cold War tournament of the year. We have 6 more CDL hosted tournaments to come, so make sure to look out for a new one each day this week.
