Trump’s Tax Returns Finally Might Be Released – By Biden’s IRS

WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 19: U.S. President Donald Trump walks out of the White House before departing July 19, 2019 in Washington, DC. Trump is traveling to New Jersey to host a fundraising dinner and spend the weekend at his Trump National Golf...

After President-elect Joe Biden is inaugurated into office on January 20, 2021, Donald Trump will become a private citizen for the first time in four years. New York state has lawsuits and investigations piling up against Trump, and Democrats are pushing for Biden’s IRS to release Trump’s tax returns.

“Then the world will see what the president has been hiding all this time,” said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who had promised that Democrats would release Trump’s tax returns if Biden were elected.

Biden ran for president on the platform that his main priority would be unifying the country. He did not criticize those who voted for Trump in his victory speech, but said that he would be a president of “all Americans,” including those who didn’t vote for him. If he allows the release of Trump’s tax returns, Biden could open himself up to criticism from Republicans.

Biden has yet to announce his plans for Trump’s tax returns.

Democrats have subpoenaed Trump’s tax returns using a law from 1924 that allows the leaders of Congress’ tax committees to see any person’s tax returns.

Democrats want to push for legislation that forces presidential candidates to make their tax returns public in future elections.
