Chadwick Boseman’s Widow, Simone Ledward, Appointed Administrator Of His Estate

Chadwick Boseman’s wife, Simone Ledward, has been appointed the administrator of his estate. The actor died in August at 43 years old and without leaving a will, so Ledward filed a petition to be appointed the administrator in October.

Ledward and Boseman had been dating since 2015, and got engaged in October 2019. When Boseman received the Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture award at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards for his titular role in Black Panther, he paid tribute to Ledward in his acceptance speech.

“Simone, you’re with me every day, I have to acknowledge you right now,” Boseman said at the award show after thanking God for the role and the “trials and tribulations” he had gone through. “Love you.”

Ledward mouthed back the words, “I love you.”

The pair got married in secret sometime before Boseman’s death earlier this year, which his family confirmed in their statement announcing his death.

“He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side,” the statement read.

Boseman’s estate has an estimated value of $938,500, and the court order appointing Ledward as an administrator with limited authority requires her to file a $939,000 bond along with the final distribution of the estate by Feb. 22, 2021.
