Dota 2: Dreamocel Leaves BOOM Esports

After spending numerous years at BOOM Esports, Dreamocel has decided it's time for something new.

BOOM Esports was one of the most promising Dota 2 teams in SEA. However, the COVID-19 pandemic didn’t have a positive impact on the team. Consequently, one of the oldest members of the team, Randy Muhammad “Dreamocel” Sapoetra, has departed from the squad.

How it all started

)

Dreamocel was a part of BOOM’s original roster, which was created back in 2017. In fact, this was the player’s first-ever pro team, which is why he remained a part of it for so many years. The last few years were emotional for BOOM ID because the team performed really well in SEA and people really thought that they had what it took to go up against the European powerhouses. Although they didn’t quite live up to the expectations, BOOM proved that they are one of the most reputable names in SEA.

Despite the decent results, Dreamocel decided that it’s time to leave his first-ever pro team. Needless to say, this decision was emotional for both sides. That’s why BOOM Esports released a video on their YouTube channel, where Randy talks about his time with the team. One of the things he said is that it was really hard for him to make this change but he had to because 2020 has been a difficult year.

The player didn’t say any specific reason for his decision. Having said that, many people assume that he just wants a new adventure. Nowadays, many SEA teams have open positions, so we won’t be surprised to see Dreamocel in another roster.

Following the changes, BOOM Esports is down to four players. We don’t know who’s going to be the fifth player, but we will let you know when the changes take place. In the meantime, make sure you follow ESTNN.
