Top NA East Fortnite free agent Jack “Jahq” Downs confirmed today that he is the newest member of G2 Esports. The Germany-based esports organization recently committed to the popular Battle Royale title’s competitive scene with a pair of high-profile signings. Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Chapter 2 - Season 3 Champion Coop and German controller player LeTsHe joined the recently voted Esports Organization of the Year. G2 has taken a meticulous approach in its Fortnite endeavor, adding only top tier players. Jahq fits the bill, with his long run of success in competitive Fortnite under numerous formats.

Short and sweet are two optimal words to describe the revelation of G2’s latest Fortnite pick-up. The organization compiled a quick 32-second video, displaying how dangerous Jahq is with a sniper in his hands. But Jahq is lethal with just about any weapon in the game. Many players and fans recognize Jahq as one of the best and most consistent competitors. His impressive track record indicates precisely that. He has been close to the elusive Fortnite major tournament victory on countless occasions.

Jahq is a jack of all trades when it comes to competitive Fortnite. He burst onto the scene as a standout player during Chapter 2 - Season 2, where he and long-time duo partner Acorn became synonymous with consistent success. Jahq and Acorn took tenth place in Chapter 2 - Season 2’s flagship Fortnite Champion Series event. Later that season, Jahq claimed third place in the FNCS Invitational. The NA East player followed that with another decent solo performance, placing 29th in FNCS Chapter 2 - Season 3.

Jahq joined duo partner Acorn and Luminosity Gaming member Slackes to form one of the top trios in the NA East region. Together, they managed a Trio Cash Cup victory and secured a fifth-place finish in FNCS Chapter 2 - Season 4. More recently, Jahq and his teammates competed in the Chipotle Challenger Series, where they collected $5K USD and free Chipotle for an entire year. He will now move forward with the support of G2 Esports and the G2Army. It’s an ideal position to be in for one of competitive Fortnite’s best players with a promising 2021 ahead.
