The winners of the annual FIFA The Best Awards were announced on 12/17 in Nyon, Switzerland.

The winner of the FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award is Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer. Neuer had a very successful season with Bayern Munich. His goalkeeping brilliance was evident in the Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League. The German goalkeeper also recently won the UEFA Goalkeeper of the Year award.

The winner of the FIFA Puskas Award for the best goal of the season is Tottenham’s Son Heung Min. Son Heung Min scored a brilliant goal against Burnley in the Premier League. He dribbled players across the field and then scored.

The winner of the FIFA Men’s Coach is Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp. Klopp had a wonderful season with Liverpool, winning the Premier League and ending the club’s 30-year wait to win the title. Klopp’s win was seen as unfair to many, who thought that Bayern Munich coach Hansi Flick is more deserving of the award after what he did with Bayern last season. Flick completely changed the Bayern Munich squad and won five awards that include the Bundesliga, Champions League and UEFA Super Cup. Flick also recently won the UEFA Men’s Coach of the Year award.

The FIFA XI are Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker, Liverpool left-back Trent Alexander Arnold, Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk, Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich, Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara, FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo and Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski

The long-awaited award of the night was the FIFA Men’s Player award. Bayern Munich’s Lewandowski won the award ahead of superstars Messi and Ronaldo. Both Messi and Ronaldo won the award multiple times. Messi won the prestigious award six times, more than anyone in the history of the sport. Lewandowski had a special year with Bayern Munich and he deservedly broke Messi and Ronaldo’s award dominance.
