WATCH: Second Trailer For ‘WandaVision’ Is Released

Elizabeth Olsen plays Wanda Maximoff

The second official trailer for the upcoming Marvel television series WandaVision has been released. The trailer was released during Disney’s Investor Day, where many other movies and television shows received trailers and announcements to excite audiences. WandaVision was created by Jac Schaeffer and stars Elizabeth Olsen as the super-powered Wanda Maximoff as she lives in a mysterious suburban area after the events of Avengers: Endgame with her love interest Vision (Paul Bettany) who is somehow now alive after being killed by Thanos (Josh Brolin) in Avengers: Infinity War. However, Wanda soon finds out that this new neighborhood is more dangerous than she actually knows.

The trailer opens with Wanda talking to a neighbor in a black-and-white 1950s style sitcom. When the neighbor asks what a single woman like Wanda is doing in an area like this, Wanda assures her that she is married to a human male. Vision enters afterwards as the two smile at each-other. The Marvel Studios logo soon appears as “Daydream Believer” by The Monkees starts to play in the background. The trailer then shows Wanda and Vision going about their so-called daily lives in this 50s sitcom environment, with Wanda performing awkward acts of magic like washing a mug or moving their beds next to each-other. The room then loses its black and white appearance and becomes colorized as it turns into a setting of a 70s style sitcom. After this happens, Wanda realizes that they won’t know what to expect  what happens next for them. More footage is shown of Wanda and Vision in the 70s sitcom environment with the former using her magic to vacuum before dancing with her lover. Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) then enters their house and greets the couple. When Wanda asks who she is, Monica suddenly freezes and says she does not know, before the scene immediately resets to where the two are simply smiling at one-another. The music picks up as Wanda notices that the illusion she is being put in is starting to malfunction and show its true appearance, much to her confusion.

Both Vision and Wanda pick up on the fact that something is not right and are soon contacted by government agents who are trying to reach them outside of the mysterious neighborhood. The trailer then shows brief shots of both Wanda and Vision enjoying their lives in the sitcom-like world and Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) gathering government agents to save the pair. When Wanda states that this is their home, Vision agrees that they must fight for it. After Wanda sees memories of Vision’s mind stone being destroyed in Avengers: Infinity War, the final shot of the trailer shows the two holding hands as the title card appears.

WandaVision will be the first Marvel Cinematic Universe show to air on Disney+ and will be released on January 15, 2021.
