Here’s a look back at the week that was Week 15, with a holiday theme.
TB12 Does it Again
After trailing 17-0 at the half, the Buccaneers came back to win. Tom Brady once again pulled an unlikely comeback against the Atlanta Falcons, only this time it wasn’t in the Super Bowl.
Eleven Straight Snapped
With Sunday’s loss to the Miami Dolphins, the New England Patriots were officially eliminated from playoff contention. They had won eleven straight AFC East division titles.
Ten Wins a Plenty
The Colts, Titans, Browns, and Seahawks all won their tenth game of the season. They join the Steelers, Bills, Chiefs, Saints, and Packers with double-digit victories.
First Since Nine-ty Five
The Buffalo Bills won the AFC East division for the first time since 1995, one year before quarterback Josh Allen was born.
MM Eight Looked Great
After Derek Carr left Thursday night’s game against the Chargers, the Raiders’ offense was turned over to Marcus Mariota. The former Titans’ quarterback and number two overall pick, played well enough to win, but Las Vegas lost in overtime.
Seven Weeks Away
The Super Bowl is officially seven Sundays away. Minus a few hiccups and adjustments, the season that many thought was in jeopardy, is still on schedule to be completed.
Six-Teen Hundred Yards
In Sunday’s victory over the Lions, Titans running back Derrick Henry eclipsed the 1,600-yard rushing mark for the season. With just two games remaining he leads Dalvin Cook by just under 200 yards in his quest for back-to-back rushing titles.
Five Loss Teams Still Have Playoff Dreams
With the double-digit win teams increasing, the Dolphins, Ravens, Buccaneers, and Rams who sit at 9-5 still have their playoff hopes still alive.
Four Safeties Recorded
Sunday saw the odd amount of safeties. There have been seasons where four total haven’t been recorded. Add something else to the year that has been 2020.
Three Straight Losses
Another week and another loss for the Pittsburgh Steelers. This time to the Cincinnati Bengals and their third-string quarterback Ryan Finley. Coach Tomlin has to figure out how to right the ship with the playoff looming and the Browns on their heels.
Two Familiar Faces Finally Find the End Zone
Dez Bryant and Antonio Brown each found the end zone for the first time with their respective new team. Bryant scored his first touchdown in over three years. Brown caught a touchdown from the same quarterback he caught his last one from over a year ago, Tom Brady.
One Win Equals No Trevor
In the upset of the season, the New York Jets beat the Los Angeles Rams. The win moved the Jaguars into the number one spot for the upcoming draft, and in position to select Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence. The Jets held that spot all season.
