Can Manchester United Keep The Momentum Going?

Manchester United starts off the new year with a hard-fought 2-1 win over Aston Villa. The Red Devils find themselves in second place and tied with Liverpool at 33 points in the Premier League standings. Soon, Manchester United can possibly become a strong contender to win this season’s EPL title.

The Red Devils are unbeaten in their last ten games in Premier League play. Since their elimination from the Champions League, the club has shown signs of huge improvement. Bruno Fernandes, the club’s top scorer has a been huge difference-maker for the club. Fernandes is in the EPL’s top five in goals scored(11) and assists(7). Furthermore, Fernandes’ involvement in 18 goals in 16 Premier League appearances proves his importance to the club.

Can Manchester United Keep The Momentum Alive?

It’s certainly not impossible for them to win the EPL title. There’s plenty of EPL soccer left to play, so it’s unlikely that there will be a secured winner anytime soon. Two months ago, the Red Devils were nine points below Liverpool and close to the relegation zone. Now, they’re in a position to challenge Liverpool. In Manchester United’s case, they still have a shot, however, it’s up to them whether they contend and win it or not.

The Red Devils have to keep winning games at all costs. Losses and draws hurt their chances of hoisting the EPL title. To win their first title since 2013 gives Manchester United a huge boost of pride and confidence. In addition, it’ll help brighten their future. At the moment, their chances are slim, but not impossible.

The main objective is to simply win games. Manchester United’s objectives to win games include scoring goals and avoid conceding goals. In other words, the Red Devils need to be focused and in top form. Manchester United plays their next EPL game on the 12th Burnley before playing Liverpool on the 17th.
