The first ‘Psychonauts’ game was released back in 2005, and many fans of the title have been wanting a sequel for a long time.
The news about a sequel being in the works was first announced in 2015, and it was originally set to be released in 2018. But there have since been several delays.
However, Tim Schafer (who founded developer Double Fine Productions) revealed in a festive update video on YouTube that the game is nearly finished, he said that “all the levels are in the game", and the game is set to be released this year.
Schafer also admitted that making the original game “was one of the worst crunch modes [that Double Fine have] ever done”, so this time around they have made sure to try to take their time to avoid another ‘crunch’ situation.
