What were the top games on Steam in 2020?

Steam250.com have revealed the top games on the video game digital distribution service from last year, according to user reviews.

At the time of writing, ‘Half-Life: Alyx’ is in fifth place. While many fans are still eagerly waiting for a ‘Half-Life 3’ to be made, it seems this title was a great new instalment to the franchise. It is also the first VR game in the series, although mods have been made which allow players to play the title without a VR headset.

‘Helltaker’ is in fourth place. The title was developed and published by Łukasz Piskorz (who is also known as Vanripper). It is a indie puzzle-adventure game in which players are aiming to get a “harem full of demon girls”.

‘Phasmophobia’ is third on the list. The indie survival horror game is still in early access, but has proved to be a hit with gamers already: with many people being terrified whilst playing the title with their pals as they try to gather evidence of paranormal activity.

In second place is ‘Factorio’: a construction and management simulation title in which players build and maintain factories.

Finally, in first place is ‘Hades’. In this action role-playing game players must fight their way out of the Underworld of Greek myth. The game has won several awards since its release, including Best Action Game and Best Independent Game at The Game Awards.
