Netflix to make The Elder Scrolls into TV show

Netflix is rumoured to be making 'The Elder Scrolls' into a TV show.

The streaming giant is looking to capitalise on the success of its 2019 series 'The Witcher' by adapting another video game into a television show.

Industry insider Daniel Ritchtman claims Netflix is looking at the video game series as their next project although the platform is yet to confirm the rumours.

The news comes after another Bethesda franchise - Fallout 4 is being adapted into a TV show for Amazon by Westworld showrunners Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan

Meanwhile, it was recently revealed 'The Elder Scrolls VI' could be released exclusively to Xbox Series X and PC.

Asked if it is possible to recoup a $7.5 billion investment if Elder Scrolls 6 is not sold on the PlayStation, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said: "Yes" but pointed out that the ZeniMax acquisition "was not done to take games away from another player base like that".

It comes after 'The Elder Scrolls Online' developer ZeniMax Online Studios brought in a big name for its next game.

The company - which has been working on an unannounced new IP since 2018 - brought 'Mass Effect' veteran Colin Campbell on board.

As revealed by the upcoming title's creative director, Campbell has joined as the studio's new lead level designer for the highly anticipated project. He tweeted: "I'm beyond thrilled to welcome @CCampbellArt to our new AAA team @ZeniMax_Online "He brings a wealth of experience into the Lead Level Designer position that I know will make a major impact on this original IP."
