Ocelote and company welcome Mexican player Jelty to the G2 roster.

G2 Esports' recent talent acquisition process in competitive Fortnite: Battle Royale continued today with the addition of three-time Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Finalist Jelty. The 2020 "Esports Organization of the Year" has been on a tear as of late in the Fortnite scene. G2 Founder and CEO Carlos "ocelote" Rodriguez has taken a systematic approach, welcoming only Fortnite's top free-agent players. It began three months ago when G2 signed FNCS Chapter 2 - Season 3 Champion Coop to their roster. The Germany-based organization then added LeTsHe, Jahq, Smqcked and now Jelty, an outstanding NA East player who regularly competes on high ping.

On top of some impressive in-game clips, the short clip featured ocelote himself asking, "Who is Jelty?" Additionally, G2's CEO questioned, "What the hell is Fortnite?" Ready or not, here comes Jelty, who the organization referred to as "the biggest Mexican Fortnite player." It's difficult to disagree, considering his accomplishments on unbelievably high ping. Many fairweather competitive Fortnite fans might not recognize the name Jelty, but he has amassed quite a few accomplishments over the last year. Arguably his most impressive placement occurred in Chapter 2 - Season 2, where he finished eighth in the FNCS Invitational. The Mexican phenom managed 166 points and collected $12.5K USD in the process. More recently, Jelty and duo partner Criizux claimed second place in DreamHack's December NA West tournament, where each player bagged $1K USD. One of the Mexican's most significant assets is his ability to compile consistent top-10 placements regardless of the competition.

In 2020 alone, Jelty managed a total of 11 top-10 tournament finishes in a multitude of formats. After a brief stint with Centric Gaming, the high ping warrior found himself a new home with one of the most prestigious organizations esports. 2021 is already trending in a positive direction for G2 and its newest Fortnite player.
