WASHINGTON, DC - NOVEMBER 19: Attorney Sidney Powell speaks to the press about various lawsuits related to the 2020 election, inside the Republican National Committee headquarters on November 19, 2020 in Washington, DC. President Donald Trump,...

Citing $1.3 billion in damages, Dominion Voting Systems filed a lawsuit against Sidney Powell, one of President Donald Trump’s lawyers, for defamation. Powell publicly and falsely claimed the voting system rigged the 2020 presidential election in favor of President-elect Joe Biden.

Dominion’s lawsuit states in their 124-page complaint in the United States District Court in D.C. that Powell spread “demonstratively false” information in order “to financially enrich herself, raise her public profile, and ingratiate herself to Donald Trump.”

Powell claims that Dominion enabled mass-voter manipulation, but failed to demonstrate any evidence of her allegations. Powell made regular appearances on TV interviews during her own litigations while soliciting donations at the same time.

Dominion CEO John Poulos has stated that the company has no intention to settle the case and would like to go to trial.
