Corrigan's Gambling Corner: Wildcard Weekend

It’s that wonderful time of year once again. The NFL playoffs are finally here. We have some great matchups this Wildcard Weekend, which means we have some great opportunities to make some money. Let’s finish this football season out strong!

2021 Record: 4-3

Saturday Best Bet: Washington (+8) vs Tampa Bay

Washington has a pretty clear gameplan every week. Do just enough on offense and let the defense do its thing. Even though they are 7-9 on the season, this is a very good football team (literally.) This defense finished second in yards per game and fourth in points per game. A lot of this can be credited to rookie phenom, Chase Young. If Washington can force Tom Brady out of the pocket and make him uncomfortable, they will cover, and they very well may win the game outright. With the possibility of Alex Smith not playing in this game, Keep an eye on this line throughout the day.

Sunday Best Bet: Titans vs Ravens (-3.5)

We dismissed this Ravens team earlier in the season because of their 7-5 start which has proved to be a foolish decision. The Ravens are right there with the Bills as the hottest team coming into the playoffs. The only problem for the Ravens is they have to try and stop Derrick Henry, which has been damn near impossible all season. Luckily for the Ravens, they are a top-10 defense in terms of yards allowed. The Ravens just need Lamar Jackson to do his thing against a shaky defense and they will win this game.

Best Point Total: Titans vs Ravens U/54

This is a tricky one because of both team’s explosive offenses. However, both the Titans and Ravens’ identity is the run. Combined, they ran for over 650 yards in week 17. If both teams stick to their gameplans, which they should, a lot of time will be chewed off this clock. Again, keep an eye on this line as it gets closer to game time.

Other Games:

Colts vs Bills (-6.5)

Rams vs Seahawks O/42

Bears (+10) vs Saints

Browns (+6.5) vs Steelers
