Dota 2 watch tab gets updated for DPC 2021 season Valve is making Dota 2 esports more visible to casual players.

The 2021 Dota Pro Circuit has officially started and Valve wants to show it off to players.

Dota 2’s watch tab has received a major overhaul. Instead of offering players a rolling list of high-MMR pub matches, it will instead heavily focus on the Dota 2 esports scene, blending together both the official Twitch broadcasts as well as DotaTV. It will also feature a built-in standings function that allows players to track the standings of Dota 2 esports.

Dota 2 insider Wykrhm Reddy gave fans an overview of the new features in a post on Twitter:

What is on the Dota 2 watch tab update?

The new homepage for the watch tab brings up a wave of information, with a score box on top, a live stream of DPC action in the center, and a list of the standings for each region at the bottom.

A new schedule page was also added. This gives a day-by-day list of each matchup in both divisions. Finally, the standings tab gives a comprehensive look at the standings in each region, with the ability to toggle between the upper and lower divisions.

One of the new features that was added is the ability to favorite teams. Along the right side of the homepage is a list of every team, allowing players to pick their favorites. When a team is favorited, it populates the box with the teams’ record, standing, most recent result, and next match. It also highlights the team on each page of the watch section.

The traditional watch homepage remains intact and can be found under the “live” section. Finally, a comprehensive list of all Dota 2 esports tournaments can be found on.

The new watch tab and integration of support for the DPC doesn’t seem to be fully realized. There is no way to look up a team’s roster through the watch tab, despite this feature being available in the Dota Pro Circuit app. This and other features are likely to launch in the coming weeks.

One key feature that is yet to launch is the fan support bundles. This will include new sprays, chat wheels, emotes, and in-game effects related to DPC teams. It’s unknown when these might arrive, with Reddy stating they will be here “in the coming weeks.”
