YouTube has extended its suspension of Donald Trump's channel.
Ahead of US President-elect Joe Biden's inauguration on Wednesday (20.01.21), the Google-owned video sharing platform made the decision due to "ongoing potential for violence".
Under the ban put in place last week, Trump's account is still prohibited from uploading new content, and comments are indefinitely disabled on his videos.
The decision comes after the US Capitol riots on January 6.
As well as YouTube's suspension, Twitter permanently banned Trump, and Facebook has indefinitely blocked his account.
Although YouTube has a three-strike policy on its platform, the extension to Trump's suspension isn't a second strike.
The first against him was due to his channel violating the site's policies against inciting violence.
Three infractions within a 90-day period results in a permanent ban, with the second strike coming with a two-week ban.
However, according to CNET a company spokeswoman didn't respond to questions about "what specifically triggered the extension".
In a previous statement, Google said: "After review, and in light of concerns about the ongoing potential for violence, we removed new content uploaded to Donald J Trump's channel for violating our policies.
"It now has its first strike and is temporarily prevented from uploading new content for a minimum of seven days.
"Given the ongoing concerns about violence, we will also be indefinitely disabling comments on President Trump's channel, as we've done to other channels where there are safety concerns found in the comments section."
