Amanda Gorman, 22, took to the stage as the inaugural poet at Joe Biden’s inauguration as the 46th president of the United States. Gorman called for unity, healing, and growth in her speech during the ceremony, all subject that are central in Joe Biden’s vision for his new America.
“We must end this uncivil war,” Gorman proclaimed. “We lay down our arms so we can reach out our arms to one another.”
