Xbox reveals new items to celebrate summer

Xbox has designed a bucket hat, a towel and a backpack for gaming fans in Australia and New Zealand.

The world-famous brand has previously released a host of similar items - including the Xbox Onesie - and has now announced an exciting new range is being made available to consumers in the two countries.

In order to get their hands on the prizes, consumers must access the Xbox ANZ Facebook page and write a post about their passion for gaming.

The new items have been designed by Sydney-based artist Dale Bigeni and are intended to celebrate the start of summer Down Under.

Meanwhile, Microsoft recently acquired Bethesda in a bid to boost Xbox Game Pass.

The tech giant paid as much as $7.5 billion to ZeniMax Media - the parent company of Bethesda - and its development studios, including Arkane Studios, MachineGames, and Tango Gameworks.

Microsoft now owns major franchises such as 'Fallout', 'The Elder Scrolls', 'Doom, Quake', 'Wolfenstein', 'Dishonored', 'The Evil Within', and 'Prey'.

And according to journalist Brad Sams, Microsoft, Amazon and Google are currently in talks to buy several video game studios.

Speaking in a YouTube video, he revealed: “I’ve been hearing a lot of conversations behind closed doors about acquisitions in the industry. There’s a lot of moving things going on right now."
