Rekkles ends first LEC week at G2 Esports with huge KDA Rekkles is also leading in kills.

G2 Esports’ new bot laner Martin “Rekkles” Larsson dominated the first week of the 2021 LEC Spring Split with some impressive stats.

After only three games with G2, Rekkles is already showing promising signs that he was the right man to replace Luka “Perkz” Perković. Not only was Rekkles a big part of G2’s first three wins in the 2021 LEC season, he also knocked every opponent out of the park. Over three games, Rekkles ended the first week with a 47 KDA after only dying once.

If the impressive KDA wasn’t enough, Rekkles is also currently the player in the LEC with the most kills, sitting at 25 in total. He is also rocking the highest damage per minute and the second-highest CS per minute in the league.

Everyone already knew that Rekkles is a world-class player, but his performance at G2 has still gotten experts and fans talking. It’s fairly unusual that a new player on a team manages to perform this well right off the bat, but Rekkles has proven that it’s more than possible.

G2 and Rekkles go 3-0 in first LEC week

Looking at the overall team performance from G2 during the first week of the LEC, it was definitely strong. G2 had some hiccups here and there, but nothing unusual. G2 is known for its chaotic playstyle which might seem a bit shaky at times, but the team usually has everything under control.

There were still a lot of things that G2 could have done better, but coming back after a break with this pace of play is nothing to be ashamed of. G2 is still topping the LEC charts and is now heading into the second week undefeated. The most important note from the week is Rekkles’ performance since he is the new guy. The rest of the squad has played together for several seasons and will look to peak in performance when it matters the most.

Rogue looks like the biggest threat for G2 in LEC

For this week, G2 took down MAD Lions, SK Gaming, and Excel Esports, all of which are opponents that G2 should be able to beat on any given day. G2 is yet to face one of the preseason favorites to challenge them for the trophy, so there are still some questions remaining.

So far, the biggest challenger to G2 seems to be Rogue, who also finished the first week with a 3-0 record. Rogue also took down Excel Esports and SK Gaming, as well as beating Fnatic. As of right now, Rogue looks like the only team that can go toe-to-toe with G2.

G2 and Rogue won’t clash before February 12, so fans will have to wait a bit longer.

What is the G2 Esports 2021 LEC roster?

After two seasons without any roster changes, G2 is fielding a slightly different lineup in 2021 compared to last year. The change is in the bot lane, where former Fnatic superstar Rekkles will be leading the charge.

The 2021 G2 Esports LEC roster is:

  • Top - Martin “Wunder” Hansen
  • Jungle - Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski
  • Mid - Rasmus “Caps” Winther
  • Bot - Martin “Rekkles” Larsson
  • Support - Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle

Is G2 Esports the best team in the LEC?

G2 Esports has been dominating the European League of Legends scene for the past two seasons and it doesn’t look like the team will slow down in 2021. Despite losing Perkz in the recent offseason, G2 is still looking strong. With some more practice, G2 will likely improve over the season and once again be Europe’s best team.
