Paige Lorenze talked about her “polyamorous open relationship” with her ex-boyfriend, Armie Hammer.
Lorenze said the pair started talking in 2019 after Hammer followed her on Instagram. She said she saw he was still married, so she did not respond to any of his messages. Hammer and his wife Elizabeth Chambers split up in July 2020. Lorenze said she moved to Los Angeles in September 2020, and met up with Hammer in person at that point.
She described the actor to E! News as “really charming, really handsome, funny” and a man who “really captivated the room.” She said they started dating soon after meeting for the first time.
“We were in what he would call a polyamorous open relationship, but we both spoke about how we were not sleeping with other people and we were just seeing each other,” she told E! News. “He made it clear that he didn’t want anyone else in my apartment, in my bed and that he wasn’t sleeping with anyone else either.”
Lorenze said Hammer slowly introduced her to BDSM activities, including “high protocol nights.” She said Hammer liked to use BDSM tools and his hands, and bite her all over her body.
“It’s like a very traditional thing in BDSM, apparently, to call it high protocol where you have to show up at a certain time, and there are certain rules and stuff,” she said. “Our first high protocol night, which is what he called it, I was in a lot of pain and it was scary, but I just felt like that was a part of what it was.”
Lorenze broke up with Hammer in December 2020 because she was feeling anxious and “always was kind of feeling sick to my stomach”
She said everything she did with Hammer was consensual, but she wanted other women in similar situations to know they are not alone.
“I know now the best thing that you can ever do for yourself is learning how to say no and it’s really hard and it takes a lot of growth, but if you do that, you’re so much less vulnerable,” she said. “I think there needs to be more sex education in general.”
Earlier this month, a Twitter user posted DMs alleging that Hammer had cannibalistic desires. Hammer dropped his role in Shotgun Wedding after the incident.
