On Monday, Marvel Studios released the mid-season trailer for the new series WandaVision on the Disney+ streaming service. WandaVision was created by Jac Schaeffer and stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff and Paul Bettany as Vision. In the series, Wanda and Vision find themselves in a strange neighborhood called Westview where their lives are being shown as if they were in a sitcom. As time goes on, more clues start to show that the couple’s quirky new life is not as charming as it might seem. After Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) is discovered to be infiltrating the neighborhood for the organization S.W.O.R.D. and expelled from the reality, it is revealed that Wanda is responsible for creating this odd illusion and might just be the true villain of the story.

The mid-season trailer opens with the ending of the previous episode in which Rambeau is thrown out of the Westview illusion. The agents of S.W.O.R.D. are then seen confirming that they have first-person intel on the Westview anomaly. Agent Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) asks Darcy Lewis (Kat Dennings) if the anomaly is supposed to be an alternate reality or something relating to time travel. Darcy bluntly states that it is a sitcom to which Woo responds with confusion as two Avengers are living in it. A speechless Darcy then claims it’s a working theory. More footage is soon shown of Wanda and Vision in several sitcom environments from the 1950s black and white setting to the flashy 1980s. The lead neighbor character Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) is also repeatedly seen transitioning to each sitcom, with her even asking to “take it from the top” when Vision states that something might be wrong. Wanda claims to not be aware of how any of this started as she deliberately uses her powers to fix the glitching errors in her house while Vision attempts to cross through the invisible barrier of Westview.

The music picks up as military trucks are seen trying to enter Westview. Meanwhile, Vision is briefly seen stepping out of the reality. Wanda claims to an unseen person that she is unsure what this is about, joking that it is just “a case of the Mondays.” After the title card is shown, the stinger shows Wanda asking if her pregnancy is really happening, which Vision confirms.

The fifth episode of WandaVision will premiere on February 5 on the Disney+ streaming service.
