EA Sports officially announced the return of its beloved NCAA Football series, which has been on hiatus since 2013.

There is no specific date on when the game will return, but it is all but confirmed that the game will not be ready for the upcoming season. EA Sports partnered with CLC (Collegiate Licensing Company) in order to ensure the game had all FBS schools, logos, uniforms, stadiums, and playbooks.
Future of NIL Rules
Due to the current state of name, image, and likeness rules in the NCAA, EA Sports is planning on moving forward without the real rosters, which means that numbers, appearance, and skill will not reflect the real team rosters (There are easy ways to get around this.)
However, the rules regarding NIL rights are more than likely to be changed by the time the game is released. This will allow the game to use player likeness. EA Sports vice president Daryl Holt says that the decision surrounding the proposed NIL rule change will have no effect on the game’s future. The game will also likely carry the name “EA Sports College Football” instead of the traditional “NCAA Football.”
EA Sports is in the very beginning of the development process so it is unclear how much more different the game will be compared to the previous versions. Whenever the new game is released, it will be the first game since NCAA Football 2014 when Michigan’s Denard Robinson graced the cover. That game was only available on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. There were no available games for the next generation of Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
