Fortnite: Two-Time FNCS Champion Tayson Joins Guild Esports

The Slovenian Fortnite Battle Royale phenom is no longer a free-agent.


Two-time Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) winner Tai “Tayson” Starčič is the newest member of Guild Esports, both parties confirmed today. The United Kingdom-based esports organization has been on a tear as of late, signing Nicolas “Flikk” Andreas Frøsle, Henrik “Hen” Mclean and Anas “Anas” El-Abd over the last four months. Guild is building an insanely talented roster in a time where other brands such as Team SoloMid are exiting Fortnite. A native of Slovenia, Tayson was arguably the best player of 2020, winning back-to-back FNCS tournament in Chapter 2 - Season 3 and Season 4. He now joins a rising esports organization in competitive Fortnite. Guild’s rampage in the European Fortnite scene continues with Tayson, and the organization once again produced a comedic announcement video, featuring a fortune-teller predicting a Tayson-filled future. Considering the player’s name and potential, it’s an exciting grab for Guild Esports. It was only a matter of time before an organization offered Tayson a deal that he couldn’t refuse. Now, he will represent Guild in all future Fortnite events with hopes of bringing more success to his career and the brand.

Tayson’s Competitive Success

The Slovenian player broke out in 2020 with multiple high tournament placements. Here is just a glimpse into Tayson’s accomplishments thus far:

Guild Esports now represents a generational talent in competitive Fortnite Battle Royale. Tayson released a statement about joining Guild:

You’ll be seeing us take over the league tables again soon, so you better keep watching!”

Grant Rousseau, Guild’s Director of Esports, also spoke about the signing. “2020 was a landmark year for Guild Esports and Fortnite, with our talented roster dominating the competition to make us the current number 1 FN team in the EU,” he said. “Signing TaySon shows that we have no plans to slow down in 2021 - we’re ready to take things to another level and cement our position as the Fortnite team to beat. We’re the squad to watch out for this year, and we’re ready for our rivals to try to catch us.”

Tayson will partake in all Fortnite Champion Series events this year, all of which will be under the trios format. His current team includes DreamHack Anaheim winner 100T MrSavage and four-time FNCS Finalist IDrop.
