After a day of teasing the news, Fnatic has revealed their first foray into Valorant by picking up the former SUMN FC roster.
The roster, which was formed in August 2020 has turned a lot of heads since its arrival on the Valorant esports scene. This unsigned roster has taken some big scalps and a fair share of prize money in just a few months. The side’s second-place finish at the First Strike Europe event was an early highlight. Meanwhile, the recent nail-biting 2-3 loss to Team Liquid at the Red Bull Home Ground showed the team's potential.
The roster is formed of three British players, Jake “Boaster” Howlett, James “Mistic” Orfila, Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff. Croatian Domagoj “Doma” Fancev is another member with the roster's most recent addition, Greek Kostas “tsack” Theodoropulos. The team is coached by another Brit, Jacob “mini” Harris. This mostly-UK roster will now compete in Europe as it joins up with legendary UK-based esports organization Fnatic.

Speaking about the deal, Fnatic’s Chief Gaming Officer Patrik “cArn” Sättermon said this:
“We’re so excited to finally join Valorant. It’s been the number one thing fans have been asking for since the game launched, and we’ve taken our time to identify a roster that fits our vision of competing for the top titles in every game we enter.
With our record of success in FPS games such as Counter-Strike, we’re looking forward to writing this new chapter in Fnatic’s history, and building our legacy in a new title.”
The roster will be getting right into the action, too. Their first series under the Fnatic banner starts on February 4 in the Valorant Champions Tour Challengers series.
