Team Vitality Signs A New Valorant Roster

The latest organization to enter Valorant is Team Vitality. They're the second major organization to join the scene this week.

Team Vitality follows on from the news that Fnatic has picked up a Valorant roster to kick-off 2021. Adding to its wealth of other esports teams, Team Vitality’s move into Valorant marks the organization's ninth different esport.

Subsequently, the roster will consist of Lukas "Feqew" Petrauskas, Ben Redjeb "Bramz" Bayram, Ouali "M4china" Manset, Vakaris "Vakk" Bebravicius, Jokūbas "ceNder" Labutis. Moreover, the side will be coached by former FunPlus Phoenix and Team Israel Overwatch captain, Andrey “Fragon” Katz.

Per a press release, Team Vitality announced that this pickup was the end of the team's talent search into Valorant. The search got underway in July 2020 at the Vitality European Open. In addition, the roster will play its first series in Riot Games’ Valorant Champions Tour.

Fabien “Neo” Devide, President & Co-Founder, Team Vitality, had this to say:

“Entering Valorant has been a top priority for us at Team Vitality since the esports scene started to develop. Having already showcased we have the ability to cement a legacy in an FPS title, we are really excited to get started. The potential of this roster is sky high and we look forward to going head-to-head with the best and proving why Team Vitality is a hive for growth and success.”

Valorant picks up pace

Overall, it looks like it’s going to be a great year for Valorant esports. Riot Games has successfully crafted an FPS esports to rival the big guns. And recent announcements show people are taking notice. With third-party organizers doing the majority of the heavy lifting thus far, 2021 looks set to be when Riot Games starts to pick up the slack as Valorant moves up the esports tier pyramid.
