After 14-months without a Major, PGL and One Esports bring us the first Major of the 2021 DPC season.
Dota 2 fans rejoice! It’s been a hard slog through 2020 with only online tournaments to sate us – but that’s all in the past!

PGL, one of the leading tournament organizers in the industry are teaming up with ONE Esports and the Singapore Tourism Board to bring us the first Major of the 2021 DPC.
Set to run between Marc 27 and April 4, the $500,000 USD tournament will see the best teams in the world take the stage for the first time since the Leipzig Major last year.
And of course, the team is pulling out all the stops so we can expect fantastic production values and plenty of high-quality visuals at the event. PGL are currently streaming the DPC 2021 SEA Upper Bracket in 4K resolution, and they’ve confirmed the Major will also be streamed at this quality.
Although we won’t know exactly what teams will be competing until Season 1 concludes, we can definitely expect to see the cream of the crop.
The first season of the DPC will see the 18 strongest teams secure themselves a spot at the Major.

Why Singapore?
Singapore is a great pick for the first Major. It’s currently one of the safest places for travellers to visit during the Pandemic. Singapore has been home to plenty of DPC action in the past too, hosting the Singapore Invitational back in 2019.
The SEA scene is one of the most passionate scenes in the DPC, boasting top teams like Fnatic and TNC Predator, and exciting up and comers such as BOOM ID.
Silviu Storie, CEO of PGL, said they’re pleased to be hosting another event in Singapore. Adding the company was “honored to present the first Major of Winter 21 DPC…”
Storie also hammered home the organizer’s commitment to the region, pointing to PGL’s a strategic partnership with Singapore’s primary trade association for esports; the Singapore Games Association (SGGA.) “After running The Manila Major and the Kula Lumpur Major, we are now returning with another memorable event,” Storie said, “and we are more than happy to run great events for SEA and Dota 2 over and over again.”
Here’s hoping that PGL and ONE will be able to do just that – there’s plenty of appetite for LAN events after such a long dry spell.
