Tom Brady has done it again.
The 43-year-old quarterback has proved that he is still an elite quarterback after winning his seventh Super Bowl. Brady showed up and played phenomenal against the Kansas City Chiefs. He finished the game with 201 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-9 win that gave Brady his seventh Super Bowl win. The 43-year-old quarterback continues to set an uncatchable NFL record, the record for most Super Bowl wins and Super Bowl MVP awards. The quarterback earned his fifth Super Bowl MVP in Sunday’s win.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneersearned their second Super Bowl win since 2002. The franchise reworked their roster after signing the 43-year-old quarterback. When the veteran quarterback signed with Tampa Bay, he brought with him a familiar face. Brady convinced tight end Rob Gronkowski to come out of retirement. In addition, the quarterback then convinced running back Leonard Fournette to sign with the Bucs after being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars. And halfway through the season, Brady was able to convince management to sign veteran wideout Antonio Brown.
The three players who Brady helped bring to Tampa Bay were the only other three players to be involved in the Bucs’ scoring plays. Brady hit Gronk for two touchdown receptions and hooked up with Brown for one. And Fournette scampered into the end zone in the second half to put the game away for good. Fournette rushed for 89 yards and also added four receptions. While the Bucs’ offense was remarkable, their defense was also quite effective in shutting down Kansas City.
Kansas quarterback Patrick Mahomes had one of his worst career games on Sunday. Mahomes struggled to get the offense working because of the suffocating defense Tampa deployed. The young quarterback only threw for 270 yards and two interceptions in the loss.
With the victory fresh for Brady, he has no plans of retiring from the game. The quarterback will return next season in an attempt to lead the Buccaneers to back-to-back Super Bowl titles.
