Just after announcing its participation in the FIFAe Nations Series 2021, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) revealed a new national tournament to make its selection of FIFA esports players.
Despite already having famous FIFA players in different teams all around the world, it’s a first for India. After selecting the best players from its country, the nation will then participate in one of the greatest FIFA esports tournaments out there.
AIFF eFootball Challenge
Between March 20 and April 4, a tournament will be held for players to make themselves known. The AIFF eFootball Challenge features 16 eligible Playstation gamers from India. They must then fight for places to represent their country.
“The opportunity to nominate eAthletes from India for the event is a unique opportunity to engage with the gaming community in the country and open a new avenue for fans to connect with the ‘Beautiful Game’.” stated AIFF’s General Secretary Kushal Das.
The two finalists of this tournament can play at this FIFA World tournament in the Middle East and Africa server regions. Registrations are open from March 1 to 10 for all players that are eligible.
FIFAe Nations Series India
After the qualification of both challengers comes the seeding. The FeNS21 uses the FIFA Global Series Ranking for the West Asia region. Then, qualified players go through a multitude of qualifying matches, culminating in the finals.

Considering there is no bigger event than this in the FIFA esports scene, Indian players get a huge stage to show themselves. This may also lead to a surge of FIFA players in India, who may get onto the stage themselves. This is a first in India’s history, and the All Indian Football Federation can be sure to get its support.
