Ahead of the sixth week of the 2021 LEC Spring Split, Riot shared the all-time LEC kill leaderboard, and it’s largely dominated by G2 Esports players.
The LEC has hosted some of the best players in League of Legends history, but some have acquired more kills than others. Looking at the all-time kill leaders in Europe, several names of great veterans can be found but also a few fresh faces. What’s most remarkable though, is the fact that five players on the top 10 are either current or former G2 Esports players.
Rekkles has the most kills in LEC history by far
Taking the top spot on the list is Europe’s darling, Martin “Rekkles” Larsson. The talented bot laner has been at the top of the European scene since 2013 so it’s no surprise that he is leading in kills. During his time on Fnatic, Rekkles was often the main carry on the team and got a lot of gold and kills funneled into him. This has paid off over the years, putting Rekkles at a whopping 1,871 kills before week 6 of the 2021 LEC Spring Split started.
Since joining G2, Rekkles' bodycount is rising even faster and it’s only a matter of time before he reaches 2,000 kills. After only a few months with G2 Esports, Rekkles has already played seven games where he got over five kills. In two of those games, Rekkles got 10 kills or more.
It’s hard to imagine that any player will surpass Rekkles on this leaderboard while he is still actively playing in the LEC. Even after he retires, it could take a while before anyone could reach such a high mark without a major shift in the meta.
Jankos closing in on Perkz for second-highest kills in LEC
While it will probably take a while before anyone gets near Rekkles in kills, G2 Esports jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski is closing in on his former teammate, Luka “Perkz” Perković, for the second-most kills in LEC. Since Perkz left to join Cloud9 in the LCS for the 2021 season, it’s only a matter of time before the veteran jungler takes over second place.
Not far behind the two is G2 Esports' mid laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther, who has scrambled up the leaderboard and stands as one of the youngest players on the list. Caps played his first split in the European league in spring 2017, which means that he is only in his fourth year. He has the most time in the LEC ahead of him, which could mean that Caps will ultimately be the top contender to surpass Rekkles at some point. Before that, he will have to chase down both Jankos and Perkz.
It’s very likely that Jankos will surpass Perkz before the end of the ongoing spring split.
Who plays for G2 Esports in LEC 2021?
G2 Esports made changes to the bot lane in the 2021 season by adding former Fnatic star Rekkles. Even with this change, G2 has quickly adapted and now sits at the top of the LEC.
