The next stage of India’s vaccination drive has begun, with the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi getting the first shot in the second phase.

The Ministry of Health & Family Welfare on Sunday, February 28, released lists of vaccination sites across the country. These include nearly 700 centers under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), and nearly 8000 private centers.

Health Analytics Asia puts these facilities on the map.

Mass vaccinations still seem a few days away as states and districts will be required to pre-register the COVID Vaccination Centers on the Co-WIN portal before the registration is opened for General Citizens. Prices per dose, at private facilities, have been capped at ₹ 250/- per dose of vaccine, including ₹100/- of user fee.

Targeting 270 million, this phase aims at people over 60 years of age, and those over 45 years with comorbidities. This adds to the first phase’s target of 30 million healthcare and frontline workers.

Eligible groups, as per the prioritization scheme, include:

All Health Care Workers and Frontline Workers as specified by the MoHFW.

All citizens that are aged, or will attain the age of, 60 years or more as on 1st January 2022.

All citizens aged between 45 and 59 years, as on 1st January 2022, and have any of the specified comorbidities. This is subject to certification by a Registered Medical Practitioner. A list of 20 comorbities have been listed in the document released by MoHFW, along with the template certificate to identify individuals with co-morbidities.
