Dota 2: Ppd Dropped From Sadboys Roster

Sadboys bids goodbye to ppd after weak run.

One of the most storied players in the history of Dota 2 has just been dropped from the Sadboys squad. Peter “ppd” Dager officially announced his departure from the team via Twitter on March 3, 2021. He said he was “officially out of the team”. He added that he might not be playing in season 2.

His exit from the Sadboys came after the team failed to make it to the ONE Esports Dota 2 Singapore Major. This was due to a weak finish in the North America Dota Pro Circuit 2021 Season 1: Upper Division.

Potential retirement after a storied career

His farewell tweet sounds like he may be contemplating another retirement from the Dota 2 professional scene. He had retired previously in April 2020 and returned in December 2020 to the Sadboys with fellow American Clinton “Fear” Loomis. They were joined by David “dnm” Cossio, David “Moo” Hull and Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu. The newly formed squad finished third in the BTS Pro Series Season 4: Americas.

By virtue of this strong finish, they received a direct invite to the NA DPC 2021 Season 1: Upper Division, where, as mentioned above, they had a disappointing run. But the team avoided getting relegated to the Lower Division by winning the tiebreaks. They eventually ended up in fifth place and brought home $ 25,000 and 50 DPC points.

Ppd’s three-month stay with the Sadboys, though disappointing for some, does very little to diminish the man’s marvelous achievements during his more than eight-year career as a Dota 2 player. Along with his numerous high-ranking finishes in tournament play, he is also best known for his time playing for the Evil Geniuses. He captained the team to victory in the International 2015. He was also the CEO of the said esports organization for one year.
