CS:GO: OG Esports Signs Niko For Starting Lineup

Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen becomes the first player to be incorporated into OG’s lineup after the original roster of 2019.

Niko had been standing in for Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt, who was removed from the starting line-up in February.

The shakeup comes after OG failed to claim a spot in the DreamHack Masters' Spring Closed Qualifier due to losses to Complexity and VOYVODA. They were also unable to get through the ESL Pro League group stage as they lost the final round-robin to FunPlus Phoenix.

Niko was unable to play in their ESL Pro League match with Heroic, as he was still on the bench of the Danish team. But he is raring to go as he takes his place in OG’s roster. "It’s an amazing opportunity for me and I’m sure we’re going to achieve great things together… I will do my best to make OG-fanbase proud!” he said as he spoke about his new team.

The roster change also includes the benching of Issa “ISSAA” Murad after their ESL Pro League loss. This means that OG has a spot open in its roster, and they will have some time to find a fifth player and hone their new lineup’s teamwork before BLAST Premier Spring Showdown on April 13-18, which is their earliest scheduled official match.

OG’s roster is now composed of Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski, Valdemar “valde” Bjørn Vangså and niko. The team is coached by Casper “ruggah” Due, while ISSAA and NBK- are on the bench.
