Corrigan's Gambling Corner: Elite 8, Day Two

What a way to start off the Elite Eight. That back-door cover from Oregon State is exactly why we gamble. What an absolute rush. I feel so good coming into today. The board is looking good and so are these matchups, let’s have a great day.

Best Bets:

USC vs. Gonzaga (-9)

This is a comically low line. Gonzaga is just ripping teams apart. Like I have previously mentioned, their record ATS is not great, but that’s because it is usually such a big number.

USC was a very underrated team in this tournament and is much better than a sixth seed. If your betting strategy is to ride the hot conference, then USC is the pick here. The Pac-12 is 12-2 ATS in the tournament. However, no Pac-12 team has played anyone as dominant as Gonzaga. The Zags will win this game fairly easily.

UCLA (+7.5) vs. Michigan

Listen, Michigan is very good and they are very deserving to be giving 7.5 to the Bruins. However, we believe in miracle runs and peaking at the right time. It worked out for Oregon State and it will work out for UCLA as well. While they are very lucky to have beaten Alabama, that UCLA defense is no joke. They held quite possibly the most explosive offense outside of Gonzaga to just 25 percent shooting from deep and outscored them 23-13 in overtime.

If the defense can slow down that good of an offense, they can do the same to Michigan. The question is, will their average offense be able to score against an elite defense of the Wolverines? I think they can, and this game will come down to the final five minutes.

Other Bets:

UCLA vs. Michigan U/136

NBA: 76ers vs. Nuggets (-4.5)
