Let’s stay up late tonight to ring in the weekend. There is a nice four-game slate including a National League West battle between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres. While there are the usual studs you could go with like Walker Buehler and Mike Trout, getting them in your lineups will take some salary help. Let’s take a look at some of those values for tonight’s late-night MLB DFS.

Frankie Montas $7,300 vs. Detroit Tigers
The 8.31 ERA Montas sports heading into this matchup doesn’t look great, but he got rocked in his first start by the Dodgers for seven runs in 2.2 innings. Last time out, he shut down the Houston Astros allowing just a solo home run to Kyle Tucker while striking out five in six innings. Tonight he gets the Tigers. Detroit leads the American League in homers surprisingly with 20, but they are in the bottom five in runs scored. The Motor City kitties also strike out a hair under 10 times per game. Save some cash and go with Montas’s upside here.
Yusei Kikuchi $7,200 vs. Houston Astros
Seattle’s 29-year-old left-hander has looked good to start the season. He has an excellent 16/3 K/BB rate in his 12 IP. Facing the Astros generally isn’t a great matchup but their lineup is depleted. Houston is without big bats Jose Altuve, Alex Bregman, and Yordan Alvarez. This could be a pitcher’s duel with Jose Urquidy on the other side, but the Astros starter is $10,100. Nelson Cruz OF $5,400
The Boomstick is still raking at 40 years old. He currently has an OPS of 1.226 and is batting .405. He will be facing lefty Andrew Heaney tonight. Combined between last year and this year, Cruz is 28-for-57 (.491) with seven bombs against southpaws. Here is a guy you pay up for to get in your lineups.
Jake Cronenworth 2B $3,700
The Padres second baseman has 10 hits in his last six games including four multi-hit efforts. He’s also shown a great eye at the plate with seven walks and only four Ks in 63 plate appearances. His price is low because he is facing Buehler tonight, but don’t be afraid to take the discount and ride the hot hand.

Oakland A’s vs. Detroit Tigers
Jose Urena gets the call for Detroit tonight and he has looked awful allowing 16 baserunners in 7.2 innings so far. Depending on the lineup construction, you could have the two through five hitters for the A’s. They are all fairly affordable and could absolutely explode tonight.
