There is a tidy little three-game slate at 4:00 pm ET today. It gives us a great chance to wrap up the weekend on a winning note and pad our accounts for next week. We have the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres in a rivalry that’s gotten heated. There’s also the Oakland A’s who after starting the season miserably have rolled off seven in a row. Finally, we have the Seattle Mariners who are tied for first place facing their division rivals, the Houston Astros. Let’s get to MLB DFS.

Blake Snell $8,900 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
He is facing off against Trevor Bauer but is $1,400 cheaper than his counterpart. Snell famously was pulled in last year’s World Series after dominating the Dodgers into the sixth inning. Expect the Padres lefty to shut down Los Angeles again in this pitcher’s duel. The Dodgers generally don’t do well against lefties as a team with just a .748 OPS against southpaws as opposed to an .870 against righties. While Snell hasn’t looked extremely sharp so far, he does have 17 strikeouts in just 10.2 innings.
Chris Bassitt $7,500 vs. Detroit Tigers
Bassitt hasn’t exactly been lights out this year but the Tigers also don’t score runs. In fact, they haven’t scored one in their last two games. Detroit’s offense is just horrible as they are dead last in the American League with a .280 OBP. While Bassitt isn’t a big strikeout guy, the Tigers whiff 10 times per game and also don’t take any walks. The Oakland righty will throw some innings as well tossing at least five in each of his three starts. As for run support, the A’s are facing lefty Matthew Boyd. As a team, Oakland eats up southpaws with an .815 OPS (only .656 vs. righties).
Matt Chapman 3B $4,300
The A’s are on a seven-game winning streak and Chapman has a nice little five-game hitting streak. During that time he is 7-for-21 with a couple of bombs and seven RBI. As with the team in general, roll with the hot hand here, especially against the lefty. He is also a much cheaper option than Manny Machado or Justin Turner, and Chapman isn’t facing an ace.
Yuli Gurriel 1B $4,000
The Houston first baseman’s average dropped below .400 after last night’s 0-for-4. Even so, in the six games before that Gurriel was 10-for-19 with six walks. He is batting second in the lineup ahead of Michael Brantley and Carlos Correa and is facing lefty Nick Margevicius today. Gurriel absolutely destroys lefties and this season so far is no exception, going 9-for-21 with a home run and a cool 5/1 BB/K rate against southpaws.
Mitch Haniger OF $3,500
Although Haniger didn’t have a hit last night, he was 9-for-16 with a couple of HRs in his previous four. He gets to lead off against Jake Odorizzi today. The Houston right-hander gave up seven hits (three HRs) in his first start of the season. And that was against the Tigers. Haniger is cheap today. Get him in your lineups and spend the money elsewhere.
